ISTE-T 1 Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
a. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness.

This is a video I created via GarageBand for my Mobile Technology in Education class. Using fun and creative tools in the classroom is great motivator for students. While I teach a younger grade, GarageBand could easily be used as a fun project tool for older students. Teachers of younger grades can use mobile tools like GarageBand to create videos like the one I made to incorporate into lessons. This video is intended to be used for brain breaks and get students up and moving.

b. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
This document is an example of a project I did that I could easily see implementing as a project in a classroom. This project consisted of analyzing two different technologies and comparing them. Lesson plans like this can encourage students to look at the pros and cons of digital purchases and encourage digital literacy and responsibility.

c. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative process.

This instructional guide is an example of a lesson I created to teach basic mathematics. Students are encouraged to reflect on their personal understanding as well as demonstrate their understanding with an exit ticket at the end of the lesson. An instructional guide is a beneficial way to plan and analyze the different ways your instruction will encourage students to think critically and achieve that deeper level of understanding.

d. Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments.
This website is one I created for an Information Technology class. The goal was to create a website that encouraged collaboration between my grade level team and other colleagues in regards to our math routines. The website includes ideas for how to format our math block, examples of unit pacing guides, and a forum for more collaboration.
